A Data Scientist, an Environmentalist, and an AI Walk Into a Bar (PSX 2020 On Demand)

Course Description:
Reading and interpreting new environmental regulations can be a daunting task and can take up a large portion of a product stewardship professional's time. It can also be a challenge to remain current on new regulations across the globe. But artificial intelligence can now assist with these sometimes overwhelming and daunting tasks. This presentation will walk you through a project that uses artificial intelligence to determine whether and which regulations can be applied to a specific product set. It will showcase the programming portions, and highlight which regulations were used and why. Different queries will be compared and contrasted. It will provide an overview of the project from start to finish and show actual results in terms of numbers, demonstrating that it is now possible to use artificial intelligence in the product stewardship world to make product stewards' jobs less stressful.
