Lessons Learned from One Year of SCIP Submissions (PSX 2021 On Demand)

Course Description:
The European Chemicals Agency's database of 'Substances of Concern In articles as such or in complex objects (Products),' or SCIP database, went live in January 2021 to an onslaught of submissions, as companies rushed to meet the deadline. Since its launch, ECHA has streamlined the submission process to streamline it, but the presenters of this session encountered a steep learning curve themselves. In this session, the speakers will present the lessons they learned at every stage of the SCIP submission process: gathering data, presenting it in a SCIP-compatible format, creating ECHA accounts, and creating software that could interface with ECHA's systems. This session can help North American companies that have not yet submitted to the SCIP database learn from European companies to reduce their costs and work burden. Even companies that already have submitted to SCIP can use the strategies covered in this session when updating their dossiers.
