Course Description:
Benchmarking, the process of comparing one's business processes and performance metrics to industry performance and other companies' best practices, should be in every product steward's toolkit. Benchmarking can help product stewards define baseline performance, identify state-of-the-art practices, and make note of opportunities for improvement. In this session, the presenters will provide instruction on how to conduct product stewardship benchmarking and avoid common pitfalls in the benchmarking process. Participants will collaborate to develop and conduct a focused benchmarking activity. After the session, participants will be able to conduct benchmarking for product stewardship practices and avoid common challenges within the process. Participants will return to their organizations with benchmarking information gathered from other attendees' experiences during the practice exercise.
