Course Description:
Executing product stewardship (PS) projects can be challenging, especially for PS professionals with environmental compliance backgrounds. Compliance is not optional, PS professionals must identify and correct non-compliance according to regulatory requirements. However, despite PS activities typically being required to enter and maintain access to a market, PS as a department or function is often seen as non-fee-earning, an overhead expense, or worse, a nonessential activity that has no business value outside of marketing. For effective PS project execution, PS professionals must understand how their projects align with overall business goals, the motivations of their business partners, and the value their projects bring to the business. Without this, it is nearly impossible for PS professionals to successfully navigate myriad business relationships and effectively execute projects. After this session, participants will have the effective project and relationship management skills necessary to successfully pitch, execute, and maintain PS projects and empower and elevate PS projects from hindrances to business essentials.
