Course Description:
Ecolabels have become increasingly popular due to growing global concern for protecting the environment and consumer requests for products with lower environmental footprints. It is worth examining how ecolabels are verified and how they can be used to communicate complex scientific information, such as the result of a life cycle assessment (LCA), in terms that most consumers can understand.

In this presentation, the speakers will go over the different types of ecolabels, provide examples of how different ecolabels convey a variety of scientific information and suggest best practices for communicating LCA results. The presentation will also discuss how to avoid greenwashing, misleading product information that presents an environmentally responsible image, by raising awareness about products' environmental claims.
