Moving from Analysis Paralysis to Action in Product Stewardship (PSX 2021 On Demand)

Course Description:
The availability of toxicology data has exploded over the last several years, leaving product stewards feeling like they are drinking from a fire hose of information. Trying to sort out all the relevant data from REACH, other regulatory programs, and peer-reviewed scientific literature can feel like a never-ending task, especially across a large product portfolio. The result is often analysis paralysis—but it doesn't have to be. Alongside the data explosion, many tools have been developed that can help product stewards avoid endless analysis and have the confidence to make critical decisions, such as ingredient selection and substitution. In this session, the speakers will discuss several tools and approaches participants can use to make these decisions and understand how confident they can be in the tools' underlying data. Building a structured, actionable product stewardship program using these tools can help product stewards mitigate business risks and demonstrate to consumers, regulators, and investors that their organizations are committed to reducing the use of risky chemicals in their products.
