Course Description:
This session will explore how human rights have become mandatory factors in product stewardship decisions. The speakers will introduce, summarize, and provide current updates on several emerging forced labor regulations from around the world, including the Uyghur Forced Labor Prevention Act in the U.S., the German Supply Chain Act, and the European Commission's proposed ban on products made with forced labor. After establishing the regulatory foundations, the session will examine the current enforcement trends of these regulations. Lastly, this session will provide next step and best practice guidance for product stewards to mitigate impacts on business continuity.
