    Description

    This course will cover toxicological terminology, physiology and toxicokinetics, toxicological interactions, target organ toxicity, toxicological issues in Product Stewardship, the process of development exposure limits and toxicity reference values, qualitative/quantitative structural activity relationships (QSARs), toxicological classifications, and ecotoxicological effects on food webs.

    • Laurie Gneiding, CEP, CPPS

      Ms. Gneiding has an MS in Environmental Toxicology and is a CPPS with over 15 years of experience in Product Stewardship for both commercial and public clients such as PBT assessments, toxicological evaluations, an evaluation of additivity of PAHs, researched carcinogenic, mutagenic, and reproductive (CMRs) toxicants in childcare articles, and prepared policy briefs on the human health effects to chemicals (i.e., PBDEs, metals [mercury, chromium, cadmium], phthalates, bisphenol) in a circular economy, preparation of substance dossiers, determined GHS classifications of various products and developed PNECs/DNELs for various chemicals and toxicity evaluation in consumer products. She has substantive experience in conducting human and ecological risk assessments.

    • David Szabo, PhD, DABT, CPPS

      Dr. David Szabo has over 16 years of Toxicology and Product Stewardship experience. He initially worked with the federal government at the US FDA and EPAs and now supports corporate initiatives with sustainable chemical development, safer food contact coatings and life-saving medical devices. He received a PhD in Toxicology from University of North Carolina, an MS in Environmental Engineering from Johns Hopkins University and BS in Biology from Plymouth University. Dr. David Szabo is active in national societies in leadership roles including the Product Stewardship Society and Society of Toxicology (SOT), is a Diplomate of the American Board of Toxicology (DABT) and is a Certified Professional Product Steward (CPPS).
